My last post I talked about how to start harnessing the power to make decisions. I talked about making sure your values are clear. Did that help you at all? Once you have that clear, the next step entrepreneurs needs is

Step 2: Make Sure you are dedicated and passionate about the decision!

How do you do that?

Think for a minute about this distinction…

If you are trying to decide weather or not you want to have an organized workspace… you might say to yourself., “Well, I’d LIKE to have an organized workspace.I t might help me” VS. I am DEDICATED to having an organized workspace! It will increase my productivity by 75%!”

Or..” I would like to find some time to really focus on my business, it might be a good idea” VS. “I am absolutely committed to finding more time in my day to accomplish my goals, fulfill my passions! I am dedicated to finding a way that will work! People do it all the time, every day, there is no reason I can’t either!!”

Action Step :

Write out a dedicated, committed, passion filled statement that will resonate strongly with your inner core! Post it below if you want !! That will add another layer of accountability for yourself!!

Take a minute and explore how stepping up and owning your words feels to you.

In order to make a decision that is right for you, you need to have EMOTION behind it. DECIDE what you want for YOURSELF and YOUR FUTURE! Once you have that clear, the decision will feel so right and you will get a sense of ‘ahhh…”

The Power of Decision for the Entrepreneur Series Part 1

Happy Monday! I am going to kick of this week with a series that will help you , the mom entrepreneur, professional, WAHM, women entrepreneur clarify decisions more effectively and quickly. Once you able to harness this decision making process an entire new world will open for you and you will notice positive change , momentum and greater success not only in your business , but in your personal life.

To begin, I would like for you to think back 10 years ago. The year was 2000. What were you doing then? How old were you? What major events were happening then? Was fears did you have? What happiness were you feeling? What struggles were you having? What indecision was playing a role in your life ? Were you contemplating school? A career? A relationship?

Where were you then? Who did you surround yourself with?

If someone were to have asked you what you were going to do with the next 10 years of your life, how would you have responded?

The question for you today is..and really think about this for a minute…HOW will you live your life TODAY in order to create a phenomenal TOMORROW? What DECISION (s) do you want to make TODAY that will bring you love, happiness, success , joy for the rest of that long path of life ahead of you?

How do we begin to make Decisions that are right for us?

The first critical step is to :

Be Clear on Your Values- What about the end part of the decision aligns with your values?
Working with a coach can help you really get clear on this topic, but to begin the process, Ask yourself; What is important to me? What motivates me? One of the easiest ways to discover your values is too look at what is driving your emotions.
Get curious about some of the emotions you feel on a daily basis. Explore what values might be hidden behind those emotions!

So, for example, if you feel frustrated or angry because your office is a disaster…look behind that emotion to get to the true value behind it. What other areas in your life or business are making you feel frustrated? Angry? Stuck? Held back? What value(s) are not being met?

Here is a list I use with my clients and withing my Inner Circle Program that you can begin working with.

Use this list to identify your core values by seeing which ones deeply resonate with you.

A few questions for you to consider:

Do you see any type of pattern as you choose your values?

Are there other values that you deem important that are not listed?

Which values give you a negative reaction?

3 Everlasting Tips From The Girl Scouts

Have you noticed that is it Girl Scout Cookie Time? How many of you have helped out these wonderful young girls in their quest for empowering themselves? The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the nation’s foremost entrepreneurial learning experience for girls. It is a unique and valuable way for girls to learn the power of goal-setting, develop self confidence and learn business skills. Were you Girl Scout?

1. The Girl Scout Creed- “ On My Honor I Will Try to Serve God My Country and Mankind and to Live By the Girls Scout Law”- Is that what they still say? I know that is what I had to say when I was a GirlScout. The message is short, sweet, to the point and creates focus. To SERVE…What do you say everyday that reflects what your mission is? Your goals are? What your vision is?

2. Discover, Connect, Take Action- These are the Girl Scouts three keys to leadership. I love it! Let’s apply it to YOU and your business. What have you Discovered about who you are in your business? How are you Connecting to you your Clients/Customers? What Action are you taking to serve them? To improve your business? To create change?

3. The Draw of the Cookie- Many women entrepreneurs today say they got interested in sales and entrepreneurialism when they started selling Girl Scout Cookies. Was that you? I will admit, THAT WAS ME!! I think I bought more boxes for myself in those days to secretly nibble on than I was able to sell! However, the process certainly empowered me! Selling the cookies enables young girls to practice goal-setting, money management, people skills, team work and strategy. They have to plan out how they will sell the most cookies. What their game plan is. What obstacles might they face? Who is most likely to buy?

What lesson can you take away from the simple Girl Scout Cookie? Is your product or service EXCEPTIONAL? Are you doing what you do for a GREATER CAUSE or a GREATER GOOD? Do you have specific systems in place? Superior goal setting strategies? Friendly customer service?
